Resort areas
Resort areas consist of dozens of small towns and villages, which are combined under one name. The name may be both geographical - on behalf of the city or region - and not related to human settlements. In Spain, for example, the names of many resort areas, such as Costa Blanca or Costa del Sol are a kind of brand that was invented to attract tourists, a kind of giant "tourist trap". Spain, France, Italy, USA, Morocco, and Turkey - each of these countries today has their resort regions known throughout the world.
There are usually two types of resort areas: beach and ski. Beach regions include Cote d'Azur in France, the Costa del Sol in Spain, Great Sochi in Russia and Amalfi, Italy. There are also large lakes such as Lake Balaton in Hungary, Lago Maggiore in Italy or Lake Bodensee in Germany and Austria.
Ski holiday areas or ski regions include, first of all, ski area, where tracks on different slopes are combined by the network of ski lifts. Often, ski resorts are named for the main resort and on behalf of the famous skiers or even on behalf of the biggest lifts. Among the well-known ski resorts in the world are: Three Valleys in France, which includes the famous Courchevel, Aspen in the U.S., Skiwelt in Austria and the Dolomites Superski in Italy.
Tourists heard names of many resort areas. But not every tourist imagines it. In the rubric "Resort areas" we will try to give detailed descriptions for the most famous holiday regions of the world. In the field of our attention will primarily fall questions of rent, as well as general issues: cost of food, hiring and attractions. For the ski resort regions one of the topical issues will also be the cost of ski passes, tickets for using of lifts and tracks.
