The eighth edition of the International Fine Arts Camp “Tiberiu Cosovan” took place in summer at the home of sculptor Toader Ignătescu in Păltinoasa.

History

The village of București, the former name of present-day Capu Codrului, was first documented on 21 December 1515. Historically, the inhabitants of Capu Codrului were involved in livestock farming and the construction of ship masts; the spread of the Catargiu family name is also associated with these activities.

In 2017, the summer church festival of the Păltinoasa commune in honour of Saint Ilie was titled “Ramuri de Paltin”. In 2017, the “Ramuri de Paltin” festival in Păltinoasa featured artistic programmes by local and invited artists.
