Culture and history

The Tour Sainte Maxime in Taluyers was built before the year 1000 and also served as a watchtower.

Those choosing Taluyers as a travel destination may want to rent a holiday apartment.

The Taluyers priory was founded in 999 and is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. The Église de la Nativité is a Romanesque church built around 1100.

Le Chater is a district that bears witness to the medieval past of the village of Taluyers and features characteristic narrow lanes and fountains. The Cuvier “Adam et Eve” there is intended for cultural and heritage-related activities.

Wine and regional products

The Domaine du Clos Saint-Marc’s direct-sales wine cellar offers tastings of its entire range of wines, as well as local products such as beer, charcuterie, cheese, honey, spirits, soap, coffee and fruit juice. The Domaine du Clos Saint-Marc welcomes groups for cellar tours and wine tastings and offers vineyard walks for groups of 10 or more.

The Domaine de Prapin offers several wine tourism experiences including a tour, tasting, Mâchon and a shared meal in the wine cellar.

Trails and landscapes

The Circuit Germanie is a family-friendly walking route with panoramic views of Orliénas and Taluyers, as well as the discovery of the Étang de Combe Gibert pond. It is also a signposted 7 km circular route marked with the PDIPR trail signs. The Circuit Germanie can be reached via TCL route 245 between Oullins and Rive-de-Gier and via the “Taluyers Place” stop.

The Sentier de l'Aqueduc romain du Gier passes through Saint-Laurent-d'Agny, Taluyers and Orliénas. It is a signposted 44.8 km linear hiking trail. The Sentier viticole de Taluyers is a walking trail through the Coteaux du Lyonnais vineyards; five information boards explain the AOP, vineyard work and winemaking.

The Gnolus route “Le vin des aliénés” in Taluyers is 1 km long and takes less than an hour.
