Paths and Circular Walks

For longer routes, there is the Chemin de Deux-Grosnes: this 74 km, multi-day hiking trail connects the seven historic municipalities of Monsols, Saint-Christophe, Trades, Saint-Mamert, Saint-Jacques-des-Arrêts, Ouroux and Avenas.

The Viaduct Circuit can start at the Maison du Col de Crie at the Col de Crie in Monsols or in the village of Monsols at the fountain square. The Maison du Col de Crie also offers starting points for hiking and trail activities, as well as mountain biking, road cycling and cycling tours. The M12 mountain bike tour is 22.5 km long and runs through the western Grosne Valley, whose source is in Monsols, as well as through the eastern valley, which runs through Ouroux. The Maison du Col de Crie at the Col de Crie in Monsols welcomes visitors from April to early November.

Nature

Mont Saint Rigaud is the highest point in the Rhône département. At its summit, an observation tower and a panoramic information board offer 360-degree views. A large part of the Mont-Saint-Rigaud massif is classified as a ZNIEFF (Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Écologique, Faunistique et Floristique) because of its significant natural richness.

Culture

The Viaduc du Châtelard was built in 1909. It is 27 metres high and 145 metres long.

The Église de Monsols was built between 1890 and 1892 to replace an older church. Its bell tower contains a bell weighing 1,400 kg and a smaller bell weighing 450 kg. The Église de Monsols also features a carved oak pulpit and oak panelling with choir stalls dating from the 1940s.

At l'Epice'Crie, visitors can discover local products such as cheese, cured meats, honey and jams. Locally produced drinks, meal trays and gourmet baskets are also available to discover there.

A local market in Deux-Grosnes sells local products, including cheese and horticultural produce.
