Nature
At the start of a circular walking route lies the Jardin des Senteurs, with aromatic plants, an insect hotel, and a lizard spiral. The agricultural and natural areas east of Colombier-Saugnieu include a Type I ZNIEFF area, indicating their floristic and faunal importance.
The Étang du Raffour in Colombier-Saugnieu is a fishing spot in the Est Rhodanien. The banks and surrounding areas of the Étang des Portions are part of the municipality’s ponds and wetlands, whose near-natural habitats are to be preserved.
History
While walking around Colombier-Saugnieu, visitors can see the old tower of the former Château de Colombier as a local attraction. The old tower of the former Château de Colombier is associated with the Battle of Anthon in 1430.
Local Life
Ferme des Evessay sells homemade tarts, bread, and brioche. In December, a Christmas market with various events was held in Colombier-Saugnieu. In mid-July, a firefighters’ ball with fireworks took place to celebrate the national holiday.
