Thermal history

The Fontaine de la Déesse Hygie is a monumental tufa-stone structure created by Pierre-Victor Sappey in 1847, depicting the healing goddess Hygie. The “Sur les traces de la marquise” experience explores the beginnings of the thermal spa through historical stories and architectural discoveries.

The Casino d’Uriage is located in the Palais de la Source. Prémol lies at an altitude of 1,095 m and offers a meadow for relaxation as well as the ruins of the former convent of the Carthusian nuns, founded in 1234.

Nature

The Parc Thermal d'Uriage Les Bains in Saint-Martin-d'Uriage stretches for almost two kilometres and covers an area of 200 hectares. Its groves include Himalayan pines, some of which are two hundred years old. The historic design has retained elliptical paths, groves, a bandstand and a cement bridge with a wood-like appearance.

The Circuit pédestre des Crêtes starts at the Office de Tourisme d'Uriage-les-Bains, 5 Avenue des Thermes, 38410 Saint-Martin-d'Uriage. The Circuit pédestre des Curistes crosses Uriage and Vaulnaveys-le-Haut, passing villas from the previous century and the idyllic banks of the Vernon.

Uriage-les-Bains can be reached by public transport from Grenoble and Gières.
