Chuzelles: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Chuzelles is home to the Chapelle Saint-Maxime, which was built in the first half of the 11th century by monks from the Saint-André-le-Bas Abbey in Vienne and has preserved its original appearance. The chapel stands on a rocky promontory and offers views over the valley.

The Navette L’va is a public shared transport service serving all the municipalities of Vienne Condrieu Agglomération and comprising more than 300 stops. It can only be used with advance reservation.

Culture

The Chapelle Saint-Maxime houses a polychrome wooden statue from the 12th century and a 17th-century painting on the vault of the apse. It can be visited on request and during national cultural events or exhibitions. A pilgrimage mass is celebrated there on Whit Monday.

The Église Saint-Hippolyte preserves older architectural elements, including windows and pointed-arch vaults. Its northern section may date from the 12th century; one of its bells is dated 1584.

The Moulin de Leveau was successively a grain mill, a fulling mill for degreasing Viennese cloth, a paper mill and, until 2008, once again a flour mill. It is one of the few examples of mills in the Vienne area that have remained in operation since the Ancien Régime.

Nature

The Coteau boisé de Leveau is part of a protected “Np” area corresponding to a type 1 ZNIEFF. The Zone humide des Serpaizières is also part of a protected “Np” area corresponding to a type 1 ZNIEFF.

Hiking

A hiking trail in Chuzelles passes through wooded sections of path to the Chapelle Saint-Maxime. Via the trail of the same name, you can descend to the spring and return along the same route.
