The Chapelle St Michel has an 11th-century stone-vaulted choir; its exterior was rebuilt in the 17th century. It formerly served as a place of worship for the residents of St Michel du Touvet.

Nature and Trails

From the Belvédère du Puy, panoramic views of the Belledonne massif, the Grésivaudan Valley and Mont Blanc are possible. The upper waterfall of the Cascades du Glésy has a 20-metre drop; the water slides through a white, foamy channel in the rock.

The Cascades du Glésy can be reached from the car park by the church in Saint-Bernard-du-Touvet. The GR® de Pays Tour des Petites Roches is a 40-kilometre hiking trail that leads to the Col de Marcieu and descends to the Cascade du Glésy. The Plateau des Petites Roches has numerous hiking trails, ranging from one-hour walks to full-day hikes.

Winter and Summer

The Domaine alpin du Col de Marcieu is an alpine ski area in Saint-Bernard. The Domaine nordique du Col de Marcieu has 24 kilometres of cross-country ski trails for skating and classic technique.

The winter Espace Ludique du Col de Marcieu offers a toboggan run, tubing, Snakegliss, alpine skiing for beginners, orienteering, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

The summer Espace Ludique du Col de Marcieu offers treetop courses, zip lines, summer sliding with Trottin'herbe, tubing, Quick Jump, a winding zip line, MountainCart and Ventrigliss.

Getting There

The station at the Col de Marcieu can be reached by road via Saint-Nazaire-les-Eymes, La Terrasse or Le Touvet; the Cars Région T85 line terminates at the Col de Marcieu stop.
