Ponsonnas: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The present-day Pont de Ponsonnas is a concrete arch bridge built in 1941 to replace a suspension bridge dating from 1861.

Culture and History

The park in front of the southern façade of the Château de Ponsonnas offers views of the Obiou and the Drac Valley. The Château de Ponsonnas was built at the end of the 17th century on the site of an earlier feudal fortification.

The communal bakehouse of Ponsonnas was built in 1890. The restored communal bakehouse of Ponsonnas has been converted into a small museum exhibition space and is still occasionally used for public baking or cooking demonstrations.

The Église Sainte-Marguerite is a 15th-century church containing fragments of a Quattrocento fresco discovered in the chancel niche during restoration work.

Bungee jumping is offered at the Pont de Ponsonnas from a height of 103 metres; the site is considered Europe's first bungee-jumping centre. Bungee jumping at the Pont de Ponsonnas is available as a solo jump or a tandem jump for two people. All jumps are filmed.

The Ponsonnas climbing site has nearly 55 climbing routes graded from 5c to 7a. The “Sérénité” sector at the Ponsonnas climbing site offers routes for beginners and for progression, graded from 5b to 7b.
