Noyarey: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Noyarey is one of the 85 municipalities in the Vercors Regional Nature Park. The Noyarey riverside corridor is recognised as an important ecological corridor connecting the Chartreuse with the Vercors.

Nature

The banks of the Isère in Noyarey form an exceptionally rare biodiversity reserve in the Grenoble urban area. The Gélinot stream was once a branch of the Isère, and the Bois du Gélinot is one of the last riparian woodland areas along the Isère.

The discovery trail of the ecological corridor from Noyarey to Saint-Egrève is an easy, 5-kilometre circular walk. It runs along the voie verte near the Isère and provides insights into the ecological corridors of the Grenoble metropolitan area, as well as the passages and obstacles used by wild animals. The discovery trail is free and accessible year-round, provided weather conditions are favourable.

Hiking

The Noyarey–Le Poyet hiking trail passes through woodland and offers views over the valley. The Noyarey–Le Poyet hike is marked in blue and begins 300 metres from the town hall car park. The Noyarey–Trucherelle–Carron–Cascade de l’Eyrard route begins on the road to Ezy, beyond the last houses, and takes 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The western crossing of the Vercors on the GR®9 leads from Grenoble to Saillans and passes through Noyarey. The L’Eyrard–La Palette route takes one hour and leads via the Bec du Pipet to La Palette. The Ezy–Montaud route begins at the end of the paved road in Ezy and follows a wide path to Montaud.

Culture

The Church of Saint-Paul is a Romanesque church dating from the 11th century. Following the French Revolution, it was redesigned through the construction of two naves. The Church of Saint-Paul de Noyarey reopened in October 2025 after being closed for six years.

Agriculture

Agriculture in Noyarey covers more than 420 hectares on the Plateau d’Ezy and in the Isère plain. At an altitude of 800 metres, the Plateau d’Ezy has hay meadows and pastureland. Three farms there are primarily engaged in cattle and sheep farming, as well as growing fruit and aromatic plants.

The plain of Noyarey, together with its extension towards Sassenage, forms an area of fertile soil covering around 250 hectares. It has had an irrigation network since 1990 and is suitable for growing vegetables and berries. The Ferme du Souillet in Ezy offers farm tours including visits to the sheepfold, animal-feeding activities, meals and guided tours. The Ferme du Souillet in Ezy also offers fruit, vegetables and lamb from its own farm.
