Nature
The Espace Naturel Sensible Etang de Gôle in Montcarra is a seven-hectare pond created in the 18th century. Protected species found in the Espace Naturel Sensible Etang de Gôle include the European pond turtle and the large copper damselfly.
Two footpaths, 1.8 km and 3.3 km long respectively, are available for exploring the Etang de Gôle.
Culture
The catafalque of Montcarra is located in the sacristy of the Church of Saint François de Sales. It was restored in 2014 and has been listed as a movable heritage object since 10 July 2019.
The Church of Saint François de Sales in Montcarra was built around 1857. It is a Neo-Romanesque church with a cruciform floor plan, constructed from local molasse stone. The Autour du Clocher de Montcarra association organises concerts in the church. The church is open during the Heritage Days and on the evening of 8 December.
The Four du Lyobard was restored between 2015 and 2017 and is regularly used by the village associations for events and traditional festivals.
The Lavoir de l'étang is a small washhouse made of rammed earth on layers of pebbles above the Etang de Gôle. At the Lavoir du Goulet below the Etang de Gôle, a wash slab more than 17 metres long has been preserved.
