Meyrieu-Les-Étangs: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Nature

Montjoux is an Espace Naturel Sensible between Saint-Jean de Bournay and Meyrieu-les-Étangs and covers 52 hectares. Montjoux offers a natural setting for fishing there.

Culture

In the hamlet of La Roche is the Saint-Clair Church, dedicated to Saint Clair, which was built from 1874 to 1879. The church has a Latin-cross floor plan and was built in the Romanesque style. The surviving lower section of the Boucharin bell tower was converted into a funerary chapel. The name SAINT MARTIN and the year 1684 are engraved on the stone lintel of this lower section.

Events

Meyrieu-les-Étangs is one of 12 host municipalities for the recurring Les Arts en herbe festival. The festival offers performances, workshops, games, readings and encounters for children and adults. The Base de Loisirs du Moulin is permanently closed.

Hiking

The Plateau du Terrier circular trail is 11.2 kilometres long, has 200 metres of positive elevation gain and is rated Blue – moderate. The trail is open daily year-round and access is free. The walk on the Plateau du Terrier offers panoramic views of the first foothills of the Alps and the valley’s ponds. Near La Plate, a hike crosses the Gervonde, a river that feeds numerous ponds.
