La Morte: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature and Activities

Alpe du Grand Serre is considered a year-round resort, with activities in summer, winter and the shoulder seasons. The Plan d'eau de l'Alpe du Grand Serre is a swimming lake at the resort. Paddleboards and sun loungers are available free of charge on site; swimming is permitted but unsupervised. The resort's Plan d'eau is located in the immediate vicinity of hiking trailheads, the bike park, the via ferrata, a playground and a motorhome parking area.

The Via ferrata de la Cascade is suitable for children and beginners from a height of 1.30 m. The La Cascade climbing area at Alpe du Grand Serre in La Morte comprises 41 routes in three sectors, with difficulty levels ranging from 4 to 6b. La Cascade is also a natural site with starting points for hikes and via ferratas.

The Alpe du Grand Serre bike park is located on alpine pastures and in the forest, offering opportunities to practise or improve downhill mountain biking. The Circuit du patrimoine is a 3.8 km route for road cycling, walking, trail running and mountain biking.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Sainte Anne was founded in 1658 and is the only remaining place of worship in the municipality. The Circuit du patrimoine leads to historical landmarks such as bread ovens, a water-powered sawmill, typical old houses, a chapel, memorial steles and a commemorative plaque for Paul Mistral.

Getting There

From Grenoble, the road journey follows the RN85, D1091, D113 and D114 via the Col de La Morte to Alpe du Grand Serre. Outside the Zone A school holidays, the Car Région T93 runs year-round, with a connection in La Mure via the T90 Corps–La Mure–Grenoble and T91 Grenoble–Gap routes; in winter, the Transaltitude service runs directly between Grenoble and Alpe du Grand Serre.
