Culture and History
The present-day Chapelle Saint Germain was built towards the end of the 11th century after a fire destroyed the Carolingian building. It still contains some remains from the Romanesque period.
The Chapelle Sainte-Anne is the last surviving remnant of the former castle at this site and also the only circular religious building in L'Isle-d'Abeau. A heritage trail at the Chapelle Sainte-Anne presents the history of the former Maison Forte de L'Isle d'Abeau.
The Parcours Street Art de L'Isle-d'Abeau leads to 10 murals and 3 sculptures in the town. The Parcours patrimonial du Gâ leads to an archaeological site at Gâ and covers Antiquity as well as the period of the Ville Nouvelle in the late 1970s.
