Cras: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the upper part of the Lèze valley, the Marais de Cras lies on the alluvial fan of the Pérolat mountain stream. The wetland continues to feature a mosaic of reed beds, wet meadows with blue moor-grass and willow stands. It has APPB status, as a local associative ENS and a ZNIEFF. The species loose-flowered orchid, Mercury bluet and large copper are also highlighted for the Marais de Cras.

Hiking

The “de Morette à Cras” walking loop runs through the municipality of Cras. Another hiking loop, the “Boucle par Chantesse et Poliénas à partir de Cras”, leads through walnut orchards and beneath chestnut coppice, offering views over the Isère plain and the northern Vercors.

Culture

Cras’s historical sights include the Church of Saint-Christophe et Saint-Jacques de Cras; a church stood on the present site of the church by 1630 at the latest.

A new château was built in Cras at the foot of the hills on the northern bank of the Pérola.

In the early 17th century, the Pourroy family, originally from the southwest, acquired several properties in the area of today’s municipality of Cras.
