Colombe: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Boucle pédestre de La Croix du Futeau is an 11.5 km discovery trail. Those choosing Colombe as their destination can find a holiday apartment here.

Nature

At 743 m, the Croix du Futeau is the highest point on the hill. A wooden esplanade has been created around the Croix du Futeau as a viewing platform.

The route includes a mini-arboretum with ten botanical panels presenting the forest’s main tree species. The protected Futeau area is home to a remarkable variety of flora and fauna, including a diverse composition of deciduous tree species.

Culture

At the beginning of the loop, visitors discover the Lavoir de Murat, one of two restored washhouses. The route also features bird sculptures made from deadwood on site, including depictions of pigeons, a Eurasian eagle-owl and a black woodpecker.

The route also includes a telegraph tower reconstructed at its original location, with information panels accessible to everyone. The Chemin de Compostelle passes through Colombe. The apse of the Église Saint-Blaise in Colombe features a painted chancel decoration created by René-Marie Burlet in 1960.

Trails

The Futeau area can be explored on foot, by mountain bike or, in winter, on snowshoes. Circuit 4 is a 5.3 km trail through the Bièvre plain with 60 m of positive elevation gain. It ends at a playground suitable for a family break.
