On the shore of Lac de Paladru, the Yacht Club Grenoble Charavines offers sailing, kayaking and other activities. Charavines Plage combines lawns, sand and small pebbles with shallow water and a playground. Access to Charavines Plage is free. The bathing area can be reached by public buses on line GH via the Office de tourisme or Parking Martin Cluzel stops.

Paths and cycling tours

The Voie verte du lac de Paladru is a 14 km route with a southern starting point in Charavines and a northern starting point in Paladru. The marked Le tour du lac de Paladru loop for e-bikes starts in Charavines. The Grand tour à remonter le temps cycling tour begins at the Charavines Tourist Office and leads to three former glacial valleys and through present-day rural landscapes shaped by thousands of years of history.

The easy Route No. 63: Le Grand Platon starts at the tourist office, passes below the Tour de Clermont to the Croix des Cochettes and then follows the Voie verte to Bois d'Amour. Le Bois d'Amour offers viewing platforms overlooking the lake and picnic tables; the recreational area can be reached on foot from Charavines via the Voie verte.

The Les Etangs du Thivoley hiking route starts at the tourist office and leads between the hamlets of Fayard and Janin, past several-century-old chestnut trees, to the Thivoley ponds. The route includes a detour to Ferme Gaec Fure et Tour, where goat cheese can be tasted and purchased directly from the farm.

Culture and history

The Musée archéologique du Lac de Paladru offers an exploration of history and an encounter with the former inhabitants of the lakeshores aboard a museum boat.
