Biviers: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Biviers is located on Saint-Eynard, at the first foothills of the Chartreuse massif. Part of the village lies within the Parc Naturel Régional du massif de Chartreuse. The Mont Saint-Eynard is also part of the landscape: this wooded rocky spur lies in the immediate vicinity of the Grenoble conurbation and rises more than 1,000 metres above it to the northeast. From Biviers, there are views of the Massif de Belledonne.

Landscape and Trails

The Massif du Saint-Eynard, designated as a protected landscape area, extends among other places across the municipality of Biviers and is suitable for walks and mountain bike tours. On the massif, the GR9 trail leads through the rocks from the Col de Vence to the summit of the massif. The GR® 965 “Sur les pas des Huguenots” also includes a stage from Grenoble to Biviers.

The Site d’escalade de Saint-Eynard is a climbing parking area or climbing site. It can only be reached by rappelling and is reserved for experienced climbers. Eight bicycle stands have been installed in the public area of Biviers; a bicycle box has also been set up on the RD1090 at the lower end of the Chemin du Boeuf.

Culture and History

The Château de Serviantin, also known as Château Servien, dates back to the 13th century. Abel Servien was born at the Château de Serviantin in 1593. The 17th-century Château de Franquières is a remarkable example of regional architecture. A restored sundial dating from 1786 stands near the hamlet of Plate-Rousset in Biviers.
