History and culture
The Church of Saint Alban in Bilieu was mentioned in 1172 as being dependent on St. Chef Abbey. The present Church of Saint Alban was inaugurated on 12 November 1840 after its reconstruction.
The Tissage de Bilieu weaving mill began operating in 1924. Over time, buildings made of rammed earth were added in the hamlets of Bilieu, from around 1400 onwards.

Events
The Lac Culture Festival is an intermunicipal cultural event organized by Bilieu, Charavines, Chirens and Montferrat, supported by the Isère Department, and featuring artists.
