Beauvoir-de-Marc: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Église Notre-Dame overlooks the village of Beauvoir-de-Marc and partially preserves its medieval fabric dating from the 11th century.

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Beauvoir-de-Marc is therefore choosing the village itself as their place to stay.

Culture

The church has a projecting Gothic portal; the main portal probably dates from the 15th century. In the nave, 70 painted and illuminated coffers form a simple and symbolic representation of biblical life. The two tympana above the doors leading to the side chapels of the transept are classified as Monuments historiques.

A commemorative plaque in the Église Notre-Dame contains 54 French verses, each consisting of ten syllables. According to the inscription on the plaque, they recount the foundation of a weekly high mass by Brother Dom Jean Thanonne from Beauvoir-de-Marc. Concerts are held every year in the Église Notre-Dame.

Trails

The “Haut et bas Bourassagne” hiking trail starts at the church and is 3.6 km long. “Les chemins oubliés du village” starts at the secondary school and is also 3.6 km long. The “Le Fouilleux, Martel, le Colombier et la Madone” hiking trail starts at the church and is 6.3 km long.

La Madone of Beauvoir-de-Marc was erected in 1868 and is located along a hiking trail. An information board at the foot of La Madone was inaugurated in May 1974.

Visiting

The Église Notre-Dame is open to visitors during the European Heritage Days and during the Berlioz Festival as part of the “Surprises du Patrimoine” events organised by the “Terres de Berlioz” tourism organisation.
