Yzengremer: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château d’Yzengremer was rebuilt after 1635 and restored at the end of the 19th century. It is located in the centre of the municipality, southwest of the public square, and can be reached from there via a tree-lined path.

Culture

By decree of 12 November 2018, the Château d’Yzengremer, its dovecote, the courtyard and garden area, the access avenue and the fountain were placed under protection. The modern outbuildings are excluded; the protection applies to cadastral parcels AE 86 to 91.

The Church of Saint Médard contains six protected objects, including a reliquary. The industrial past can also be seen in specific buildings: the Dehesdin iron foundry was expanded with annealing furnaces in 1897, storage rooms in 1899 and a polishing workshop in 1901, but is no longer in operation. The Robert Couillet metalworking factory is still operating under the same name in a main building erected in 1890.

Geographical setting

Yzengremer is located in the southwest of the Vimeu Plateau, approximately 7 km from the coast. The R.D. 19 departmental road crosses the village between Béthencourt-sur-Mer and Dargnies. The R.D. 402 departmental road also passes through the village between Méneslies and Woincourt.

Nature

The “Yzengremer Plateau and Bresle Valley” route is a moderate-difficulty 10.5 km hike with an estimated duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. It begins at the Place de la Mairie in Yzengremer and returns to the car park in the town centre. It mainly follows grassy paths through the countryside and offers views of the Bresle Valley.

Events

Every year in May, Yzengremer hosts the Fête des Fleurs and a municipal brocante market.
