At the Église Saint-Séverin in Outrebois, several historical details come together. The church is considered a 16th-century church. During a walk around the Église Saint-Séverin, visitors can see old graves; its walls also feature numerous engraved graffiti, most of which date from the 18th century.
The baptismal font in the church of Outrebois dates from the 13th century. The statue Vierge à l’Enfant dite Notre-Dame de Bonne Nouvelle is also located there and is made of white marble. It dates from the 16th century and is classified as a protected heritage object. The statue was stolen between 5 and 6 January 2022.
Another special feature of the Église Saint-Séverin is the rectangular sundial. It is only slightly inclined, its small hand is still intact, and the Roman numerals are still clearly visible.
Walk
The Promenade bucolique is a walking route that begins at the Église Saint-Séverin. The church stands on the hills of Outrebois, beside the road connecting Doullens and Auxi-le-Château.
After leaving the Église Saint-Séverin, the walk passes a 19th-century chapel. Below the road, it crosses the Authie before leading into the village. The route continues through the village to a remarkable wrought-iron Calvary cross; along the way are old farm buildings with impressive large gates.
On the road from Outrebois to Boisbergues, you can admire the manor house of the Quesnel farm. It is now privately owned. The Quesnel estate lies at the foot of a hill on which the ruins of a former fortified castle are located. Today, only two towers of this castle remain.
