Longavesnes: Holiday apartments and houses

In Longavesnes, the parish church of Saint-Martin is located on Rue de l'Eglise. After its destruction in the First World War, it was rebuilt based on the design plans provided by Louis Faille in 1926. After passing through Longavesnes, the “L'Ermitage de Moyenpont” route crosses the plain to the Bois Serré and the larris du bois Roi. The “Sur les traces de Louis Faille” circular hiking trail in Haute-Somme is an easy, 9 km-long, agricultural-themed route showcasing reconstruction heritage. The “Sur les traces de Louis Faille” route takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Events

Sentiers en Fête is an annual hiking event associated with the Office de Tourisme Péronne Haute Somme. The 2025 edition included a 9 km hike through Marquaix-Hamelet, Longavesnes and Tincourt-Boucly.

Geographical setting

The archaeological site at the lieu-dit “Le Champ Dessart” in Longavesnes lies on a south-facing slope where two dry valleys converge towards the Cologne. The Cologne is a present-day tributary of the Somme.
