Chépy lies at the gateway to the Baie de Somme and within a Parc Naturel Régional. At the same time, the town is located at the junction between the green valley of the Trie and an agriculturally cultivated plateau.

Landscape and Nature
The landscape of Chépy comprises a gently rolling limestone plateau, open fields, plantings along the roads and Courtil villages.
Municipal surveys recorded 71 species in Chépy; however, the survey was not complete. The Chépy Atlas mentions the endangered Little Owl species Chevêche d’Athéna; its preferred habitat, the bocage landscape, is threatened by its loss.
Culture and History
The war memorial in Chépy features a large central mosaic panel listing the fallen and bears the motto “SOYONS UNIS POUR VIVRE COMME ILS LE FURENT POUR MOURIR”.
The parish church of Saint-Pierre was built after a medieval chapel at the beginning of the 16th century; the former presbytery and its outbuildings also form part of this religious heritage.
There are 18 calvaries or roadside crosses made of wrought iron, wood and tuff stone in the municipality of Chépy. They bear witness to important religious practices in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Chépy’s 20th-century industrial heritage includes the Quennehen brickworks, the Denis C et fils textile factory and Decayeux STI. Denis C et fils initially produced velvet, mattress fabrics and mattresses and was taken over by Huret et fils in 1960 to produce bicycle derailleurs.
