Aigneville: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Aigneville is home to the Chapelle d'Hocquelus, a building whose construction can be dated precisely: it was approved in 1620 and completed in 1632. The single-nave limestone building has a polygonal, angular chancel and a bell gable.

Culture

The Église Saint-Martin d’Aigneville also reflects various construction phases. The first section, adjoining the chancel, is an original chapel from the 11th century. The second section of the church was extended in the 12th or 13th century using white stone. The late Gothic chancel, made of local white chalk, was built in 1531.

The historic townscape also includes numerous ancient wall and building remains. In September 2012, horse-drawn carriages passed through Hocquélus, following a route of the historic “Route du Poisson”.

The historic site of Abbaye du Lieu-Dieu, the Chateau d'Eu palace and the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame-du-Pré are located in the area surrounding Aigneville.

Landscape

The “A travers les plaines de la Somme par Maisnières” hike runs from Aigneville towards Vismes and Maisnières across the plains.
