The Maison semi-provisoire de Vassogne was built in 1919 to temporarily house the Hautemont family after their home was destroyed by bombing during the First World War; it was built according to the Puchot design. By decree of February 21, 2020, it was fully listed as a historic monument. The Maison semi-provisoire de Vassogne was restored in 2019–2020 and retains part of its original furnishings.
Culture
The Musée de Vassogne houses between 10,000 and 15,000 objects, most of which relate to the period before the war and the reconstruction period. It features an area for collection conservation, a provisional house from 1919, the Daniel-Pillant area, and thematic exhibitions on rural life and reconstruction after 1918.
The Church of Sainte-Geneviève has a single-nave body with three bays, as well as a neo-Romanesque portal with multiple archivolts and capitals decorated with floral motifs. It is located in the heart of Vassogne, set slightly back from the central square, and adjoins a cemetery with soldiers’ graves.
