Saint-Christophe-à-Berry: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The P.C. Reboul is a flat underground quarry that French troops converted into a command post at the beginning of 1916. It has been listed as a historic monument since 23 November 1999 and is considered both a war relic and a memorial site.

Culture

The Monument aux Morts is attached to the village church of Saint-Christophe-à-Berry. It depicts a grandfather sitting on ruins, holding a poilu helmet pierced by a bullet and turning towards his grandson. The monument bears the title “Souviens-toi”, which conveys the message of passing on remembrance.

The Carrière de Berry has been exploited since the Middle Ages. It contains a chapel built by the chasseurs alpins. The Carrière de Berry is also a protected war relic and a memorial site.

Nature

The entrance to the Bois de Chapeaumont is via the Fontaine Sainte-Anne. There are quarries in the Bois de Chapeaumont. Hiking opportunities are available in Chapeaumont.

The Saint-Christophe-à-Berry horse chestnut tree received the French “Arbre remarquable de France” label in spring 2006.

Events

The Association du Marronnier organises evening markets featuring local producers as well as local and artisanal creatives. Three events currently take place in Saint-Christophe-à-Berry each year: a beer festival in mid-March, a summer market at the end of August and a Christmas market at the end of November.
