Culture

The Parc des Bruyères in Fère-en-Tardenois (Aisne) is located in a small wooded massif encompassing the acidic heathlands of Fère and the Bois de Saponay. The most important natural habitats include wet forests along the Ru de la Pelle, wet heathlands, aquatic vegetation along the edge of the pond, dry forests on sand, common heather areas and open sandy areas.

History

At the site of the Mémorial de la croix rouge, the 42nd US Division, the Rainbow Division, defeated strong German defensive positions on 26 July 1918. The Mémorial de la croix rouge includes a bronze statue by James Butler, a British artist and member of the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
