The new Château de Caulaincourt was built between 1930 and 1933 after the former château was destroyed by the German army in 1917. The Château de Caulaincourt is a neoclassical residential building that, both externally and internally, is inspired by the palaces of Saint Petersburg as well as by Palladio.

The tomb statue of Louise Adrienne de Carbonnel de Canisy is located in the Caulaincourt family burial chapel in the municipal cemetery. It is about two metres tall and made of white marble with grey veining. The unsigned and undated tomb statue of Louise Adrienne de Carbonnel de Canisy is attributed to the sculptor Alfred Boucher.

The washhouse of Caulaincourt lies between the Église Saint-Quentin and the Omignon and is considered a notable example of small-scale built heritage. The Caulaincourt family mausoleum, known as the “Dôme de Caulaincourt”, is partially listed as a monument historique. The Dôme de Caulaincourt is privately owned. The Caulaincourt family burial chapel next to the village cemetery was probably built in 1876 and likely in the years immediately following.

The mausoleum was listed by decree of 28 October 1992; the Château de Caulaincourt, the landscaped park with porticos and vases, the enclosing wall, and the old 18th-century gate were protected as historic monuments by decree of 9 April 1998.

The last grave in Trefcon British Cemetery (Caulaincourt) contains a British airman who died in 1940. The Trefcon (Caulaincourt) British military cemetery contains 290 casualties from the ranks of the British Army.

Water and Paths

The Étangs de Caulaincourt are located in the Omignon valley in the village of Caulaincourt. They are situated behind the Église Saint-Quentin. A 25.7 km stage of the Via Francigena connects Trefcon with Seraucourt-le-Grand, passes through Saint-Quentin, and runs south of Caulaincourt.

The Saint-Martin-des-Prés hiking trail passes through Caulaincourt and follows the Omignon.
