Boue: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The parish church of Saint-Nicolas de Boué stands in Boue and may have been built in the 16th century; the choir from this building has been preserved. The nave was almost completely rebuilt in the 18th century, and window openings were also created in the choir.

Culture

The choir and nave of the church in Boué contain an ensemble of 16 stained-glass windows, comprising window openings 0 to 12 and 100. They were commissioned in 1922 from the Paris workshop of brothers Joseph and Henri Mauméjean and installed in 1923. One of the scenes depicts Boué in destruction and reconstruction.

The former railway station of Boué is also part of the local history. It was destroyed during the First World War and rebuilt in 1921 at the site of the station hall of the previous station. The former station was located on the railway line from Busigny to Hirson, which was put into operation around 1885.

Nature

The Plan d'eau de Boué body of water formerly served as a reservoir for the Sambre-Oise Canal. Today, an interpretive trail there offers views of the surrounding nature. With patience and quiet, numerous groups of birds can be observed at the Plan d'eau de Boué, including ducks, kingfishers, grey herons and coots.

The Le sentier de Bo-wé educational trail in Boué is an interpretive circular route with numerous information panels about the local wildlife and plant life. The circular route is 1.8 km long; its duration is stated as 30 minutes.

Local produce
