Baulne-En-Brie: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Baulne-en-Brie is home to the Church of Saint-Barthélemy, which was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and has been protected as a historic monument since 1920. The north transept contains the tombstone of Guillaume de Baulne, who died in 1255. The church also features a coffered wooden ceiling with oppositely arranged battens, described as one of the last of its kind in the world.

The local culture of remembrance includes the “Mur de mémoire vivante” in Baulne-en-Brie, which commemorates the deportees of the canton of Condé-en-Brie. The “La Fontaine Noire” circular trail is one of the eleven short circular trails in the Surmelin Valley and passes through Le Breuil and Baulne-en-Brie in Vallées-en-Champagne. It runs along pleasant meadows beside the Surmelin and offers a shaded picnic table.

The “Par Les Prés de Buire” circular trail is also one of the eleven short circular trails in the Surmelin Valley. It passes through Celles-lès-Condé, Baulne-en-Brie in Vallées-en-Champagne, and Condé-en-Brie. Along this route, forests, fields, orchards, and vineyards alternate.

Hiking and Cycling

On the hiking trail, the signposting at the junction with Rue de la Chapelle leads to the Church of Saint-Barthélemy and the “Mur de mémoire vivante”.

For cycling tours, the “Les Portes de la Champagne” stages pass through Baulne-en-Brie in two directions: one 33-kilometre route leads from Château-Thierry to Baulne-en-Brie, while another stage covers 43 kilometres from Baulne-en-Brie to Charly-sur-Marne.
