Culture
The southern side-aisle area of the Church of Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais was listed as a historic monument in July 1932; the entire church has been listed since September 2011. The 16th-century canopy features finely crafted sculpted elements.
Nature
The municipality of Pullay includes 400 hectares of forest known as Les Bois Francs. The Voie Verte also runs through Pullay along a total route of 8.5 km from Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton to the village of Les Barils; around 6 km of this route pass through Pullay. The section running through the village is fully paved and open to bicycles, scooters, roller skates, pushchairs and pedestrians.
The Les Bois Francs circular route is 10.5 km long and can be used on foot or by mountain bike. It starts in Pullay at 2 Rue des Rossignols and is connected to the Voie Verte and the GR 22.
Tradition
Pullay’s conservation orchard was established in 2012 on municipal land near the community hall. It contains 16 trained apple trees grown as spindle trees for dessert apples, as well as 15 half-standard apple trees for juice or cider apples.
Every year in October, Pullay hosts the Fête de la Pomme et du Terroir. Events include carriage rides, the presence of craftspeople and apple-picking by children from the village.
Getting There
Pullay can be reached via the RN 12 national road, which connects Paris with Brittany. Pullay can also be reached via the Paris–Granville railway line, which stops at Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton station.
