Regular cutting preserves the low-growing flora typical of calcareous grasslands along the botanical trail, which is threatened with disappearing due to reforestation.

The slope between the hamlets of Cresne and Les Vallois is part of the Natura 2000 site FR2300128. Jouy-sur-Eure also has signposted routes for outdoor activities. History and Architectural Heritage

The history of Jouy-sur-Eure is closely linked to an abbey first mentioned at the beginning of the 10th century. Saint-Pierre Church was built in the 13th century, with the nave’s north wall dating from that period; the choir dates from the 14th century and was remodeled in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Saint-Pierre Church has a roof structure shaped like an inverted boat hull. At the end of a short path near the church in Jouy-sur-Eure stands an old washhouse.
