Culture and History
The Church of Saint Martin in Gasny is built of limestone. Its transept and choir date from the 16th century and stand on remains from the 13th century. The nave was rebuilt in 1898 by Henri Jacquelin and has ribbed vaults. The church also houses an ensemble comprising the high altar, an altarpiece and a tabernacle from the second half of the 17th century, as well as an altar from the first quarter of the 19th century.
The Benedictine Priory of Saint Nicaise in Gasny was founded around 680 by Saint Ouen, who was Bishop of Rouen at the time. It is considered a 12th-century priory. After the municipality purchased the Benedictine priory in 1988, most of the priory was renovated and restored from 1991 onwards.
