Subles: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Manoir de Pézerolles dates from the 17th century. The building, in the style of Louis XIII, has a portal framed by four bays, leading to a rectangular courtyard.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Martin overlooks the Drôme Valley. Its west façade has buttresses, an ogival window, and a two-arched bell gable. Inside, the church houses a high relief depicting Saint Martin sharing his cloak with an almost naked beggar. The Moulin de Hard dates from the 18th century.

The history of ceramics is also present in Subles: the remains of the La Ferme du Jardin pottery workshop include five kilns arranged in a fan shape above an open clay extraction area. Around 1895, Louis Desmant founded his own pottery workshop in the centre of Subles (Calvados), at what later became No. 38 Rue Desmant. In their workshop, Louis Desmant and his son produced ceramics with lustred decorations in the Art Nouveau style.

The “Les petits chemins de la Drôme” circular route is an easy 12.5-kilometre trail starting in Subles. As a detour, the circular route leads to the Manoir de Pézerolles, where there is an information panel about the heritage site.
