The 9.6-kilometre Le Val Roy walking trail begins in Ouffières. Its starting point is the car park opposite Ouffières Town Hall. From there, the trail follows the River Orne to Val Roy. Along the trail, remarkable buildings dating from the time of Joan of Arc can be seen at a farm in the village of Ouffières.
History and Church
Ouffières was first mentioned in 1096 in the founding charter of the Priory of Saint Vigor. The history of the village dates back to the 11th century. The local religious architecture includes the Church of Saint-Mathieu-et-Saint-Lô: its nave and tower date from after the 16th century, and the church also apparently contains traces of early Romanesque architecture. The choir of Saint-Mathieu-et-Saint-Lô was rebuilt in 1870.
