Mondeville: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Vieille église Notre-Dame-des-Prés in Mondeville dates from the 12th and 13th centuries in its main construction phase. On 22 July 1913, it was classified as a historic monument.

History
The stones from Rue des Roches, as well as Caen stone, were used to build the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey. Rue des Roches is considered a historic symbol of Mondeville. During the Allied landings from 6 June 1944 until the evacuation of Mondeville on 13 July 1944, around 9,000 people sought shelter there.
Culture
La Renaissance offers an interdisciplinary programme featuring music, theatre, dance, circus and street art. Since 2011, La Renaissance has also initiated and organised the free three-day street art festival “Plateaux Éphémères” in July, which takes place in the streets of Mondeville.
Supermonde is a cultural venue for professionals, artists and the public from the fields of music, cultural heritage, visual arts and graphic arts. From the SNCF railway station, Supermonde can be reached by bicycle in 10 minutes via the cycle path along Cours Montalivet.
Mondeville Animation offers workshops for amateurs in handicrafts, theatre and artistic activities. The cultural programme includes artistic and educational exhibitions, summer events, as well as the festivals “Tongs et espadrilles” in July and “Talents Aiguilles” in February and March. Mondeville Animation is also the organisation behind the “P’tit Coin”, Normandy’s first café-theatre dedicated to humour.
Nature
The Biez, initially called the Gronde, crosses Mondeville before flowing into the Orne. Mondeville’s green spaces are maintained in such a way as to preserve biodiversity.
Mondeville offers the 5 km-long Parcours de la Gronde running route. Parc Charlotte Corday has a marked running route for runners to follow, as well as a play area. In the south, Parc du Biez has a play area and a lawn for picnics during family outings.
