Le Gast: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Lac du Gast is a 66-hectare drinking water reservoir on the edge of the Saint-Sever forest. The Lac du Gast ornithological reserve was established on August 2, 1988.

Nature

Culture and history

As part of “Granit – Mémoire de pierre”, “Randonnées de chant et de pierre” are offered. They combine traditional songs with visits to local granite production sites and accounts from contemporary witnesses.

The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Le Gast dates from the Romanesque period; some structural elements date back to the 17th century. The church is laid out in the shape of a Latin cross and ends in a pentagonal apse.

The tourist route “La Route du granit”, also known as “La pierre percée”, is approximately 50 kilometres long and passes by Lac du Gast.

The cycling route “En lisière de forêt” is a nature-oriented circular route with Lac du Gast as a prominent destination or stopping point.
