From April to October, the intermunicipal sailing school CAP 21 offers the public kayak, paddleboard and windsurf board rental. In July and August, CAP 21 runs one-week courses on catamarans, Optimists and windsurf boards. According to a set schedule, the sailing school also offers aquawalking from February to December.

A trip on the Flipper II departs from Grandcamp for Pointe du Hoc and conveys the history of the Rangers during the landing on 6 June 1944.

Food and drink

The marina of Grandcamp-Maisy has 270 berths on five pontoons, including around 15 spaces for visitors. The fish market in Grandcamp-Maisy is stocked daily with fresh fish, crustaceans and other shellfish. For several years, the scallop festival, “Fête de la Coquille Saint Jacques”, has been held in Grandcamp-Maisy on the last weekend of November.

History

Construction of the Église Saint Germain de Maisy began in the 13th century. The bell tower of the Église Saint Nicolas is still located in the cemetery of Grandcamp.

The Maisy Battery is open to the public and includes an open-air museum with authentic German trenches and bunkers. Visitors can walk along 2 km of original German trenches on the site.
