The Les Planches promenade defines the view of Deauville by the sea: from the long promenade, visitors can look out over the beach, the colourful parasols, and the changing colours of the sea and sky. Today, Les Planches is 643 metres long. The names of actresses and actors are painted in black letters on the planks between the beach cabins.

Deauville Beach is an expansive stretch of shore between the sea and Boulevard Cornuché. At the beach first-aid station, a Tiralo and a Hippocampe are available to people with motor disabilities on presentation of identification.

The Bains pompéiens combine ancient-inspired courtyards, atriums and arcaded galleries with a modernist Art Deco design. They were inaugurated on 5 July 1924 based on a design by the architect Charles Adda. Their cabins open onto the sea or onto five courtyards.
Les Franciscaines dedicates 6,200 m² to art and culture, including painting, photography, literature and performances in a year-round programme. The centre brings together a museum, a media library, an events hall, an auditorium, exhibition spaces and a FabLab open to everyone. It is housed in a completely renovated former convent.
The Deauville American Film Festival was founded in 1975 and opens its doors to the public.
History
Villa Strassburger is a building constructed for Henri de Rothschild during the Belle Époque on the site of a farm that belonged to Gustave Flaubert’s family. The Deauville-La Touques racecourse was built in 1864.
Equestrian Sports
The Deauville-La Touques racecourse has three polo fields, where the best teams in the world regularly compete against one another. The École de polo de Deauville trains riders for both indoor and outdoor polo.
