Culture and History

Crocy’s history includes sacred buildings and the development of the Grand Moulin. The Église Saint-Hilaire was listed as a historic monument by decree dated 18 March 1927. Its main construction phases date from the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries.

The Église Saint-Martin-Saint-Hilaire has a Romanesque nave with two side aisles. Its choir ends in a Late Gothic Flamboyant ambulatory or corresponding apse. The Église Saint-Hilaire complex also includes a stained-glass ensemble comprising 19 windows from 1953–1954 and covering an area of 35 m².

The Grand Moulin in Crocy developed from grain and paper mills into a cotton spinning mill and later into a grain mill. Two turbines and their transmission mechanisms have been preserved there.
