Culture and History
The Église Saint-André is a 12th-century church. Its Romanesque remains include the nave and rows of corbels beneath the cornices. The northern aisle contains furnishings consisting of an altar, tabernacle, reredos and a statue of the Virgin and Child; these furnishings date from the 18th century. The keystone of the chancel vault bears the inscription 1348. This year is considered the probable completion date of part of the original building. The Église Saint-André is located south of the D96.
The Château du Bas-de-Cottun is an elegant château flanked by two extensively restored towers, typical of the châteaux of the Restoration period. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, it was entrusted to the monks of Mondaye Abbey on several occasions. The eastern tower probably served as a dovecote.
