Culture and history
The tower, stables and dovecote of the Manoir Cordey are considered characteristic features of Norman manor houses. The parish church of Saint-André was built at the beginning of the 19th century on the ruins of an earlier building and towers over the centre of Cordey. The church contains an altarpiece with a painting of Saint Andrew on wood and a depiction of his martyrdom.
The Manoir de Carabillon was built in 1752 on the site of an earlier fief of the same name.
Landscape
The western part of Cordey is occupied by the Bois de Saint-André. At the southern edge of the landscape around Falaise, the terrain around Cordey becomes more rugged and follows the contours of the wooded slopes of the Baize Valley.
Getting there
The Manoir de Carabillon can be reached via exit 11 of the A88/N158, then in the direction of Putanges and via the D509.
Routes
The Falaise–Saint-Vigor cycle route runs through the village of Cordey via the D244. At the end, the 12.5 km circular route around the Étang d’Ergoutel continues for another 150 m in the direction of the village of Cordey. The Circuit de la Vallée de la Baize follows the D244 towards Cordey; after about 1 km, it continues towards St Martin de Mieux.
