Annebault: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Annebault combines the remains of a medieval fortified site with a feudal motte and remarkable features surrounding the Église Saint-Rémy. The remains of the feudal motte are owned by a private company.
Those choosing Annebault as a destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Rémy was restored and renovated in 2010; it may date entirely from the 13th century. The church contains an altarpiece with a winged tabernacle, a painting of the Adoration of the Magi, and two altarpieces for side altars.
The wider region around Annebault is home to several historic buildings and sites: the Château de Cricqueville-en-Auge is a castle, as are the Château de Bonneville-sur-Touques and the Château de la Houblonnière. The Abbaye du Val-Richer is a historic site there.
Memorials
The memorial steles commemorating the liberation of Annebault stand in the town centre on the D45 near the calvary. They commemorate British soldiers of the 8th and 9th Parachute Battalion who fell during the liberation of the town. The memorial steles were inaugurated on 21 August 1994 to mark the 50th anniversary.
On the Route du Cidre, tours with tastings are offered at one of the cider cellars.
