Pas-en-Artois: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Église Saint-Martin is the only surviving one of the three churches that Pas-en-Artois had in the 15th century. Its bell tower has been listed as a historic monument since 6 November 1929.

Culture

The Calvaire on the hill in the municipality was restored after seven weeks of work. The Château is an 18th-century building on the southern slope of Châtelet Hill. It is privately owned and closed to the public, but can be viewed as part of the surrounding panorama.

The painting “Vierge à l'Enfant entourée de saintes et d'anges” is a copy of a work by Perugino that is kept in the Louvre in Paris; it was transferred by the state in 1872. A brotherhood was led by a king. This magistrate, known as a “mediator,” commanded a type of militia responsible for policing public morals in the town.

Nature and Trails

The Kilienne crosses Pas-en-Artois and is a tributary of the Authie. Near the church, it meets the Beaucamp stream. Historically, it powered up to seven mills while flowing through Pas-en-Artois.

The Village-Patrimoine circuit leads through the village streets and includes six important sights. The Sentier des Bois is a 9-kilometre hiking trail lasting approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, starting at the Grand'place in Pas-en-Artois. After crossing a small lock, it follows the left bank of the Kilienne.

The Arbre à la Vierge is a tree shrine with a small niche containing a statuette of the Virgin Mary. The Calvaire on Saint-Pierre Hill offers a panorama over the village and the Château. Along the small path to the Arbre à la Vierge, traces of shell impacts are still visible beneath the vegetation.

Events

As part of the Trail de la Kilienne, walking routes of 9 and 15 kilometres are offered. The 7th edition of the Trail de la Kilienne will take place on Saturday, 26 September 2026.
