Fishing is possible at Parc de la Briquette, in some areas also at night. Walking and cycling are also possible there. The green spaces and bodies of water at Parc de la Briquette are open year-round without restrictions; the La Briquette area is an exception during the hunting season.

The EuroVelo 5 route leads from Pont-à-Vendin via Meurchin towards Wingles along the riverside route. In addition, the pump track in Meurchin was opened and used by scooters, bicycles and kick scooters at its inauguration.

Culture and history

The Médiathèque l’Artchipel comprises a media library, a multipurpose hall with a dance school, a music school, visual arts workshops, and a multimedia and games area.

Admission for individual visitors to the Médiathèque l’Artchipel is free for both Meurchin residents and visitors from elsewhere. It is open on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Fridays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The municipality of Meurchin includes the edge of the buffer zone of the UNESCO-protected site “Paysage et ensemble miniers d’Auchy-les-Mines à Lens”.

The historic site “Brayelle Abbey” is located in the immediate vicinity of Meurchin. The “Artothèque d'Hénin-Beaumont” museum is also located nearby. Further afield in the region around Meurchin are the historic site “Arsenal des Dix-huit Ponts” and the historic site “Abbaye des Prés de Douai”.

From January 1, 2026, visitors will be able to use TADAO buses in the area free of charge, without a ticket or subscription.
