Inxent lies along the Course and is therefore predominantly a linear village. At the same time, the village is located within the ZNIEFF de la vallée de la Course et ses affluents des sources à sa confluence avec la Canche, a type 1 continental ecological inventory area. Culture
The Eglise de la Nativité has two distinct construction phases, which can be recognized by the different heights of the choir and nave. The year 1765 is engraved on the portal; it probably refers to the remodeling of the façade and the construction of the bell tower. The former manor farm of Inxent is also part of the historic building stock. It dates from 1577 and was restored in 1826.
The village also combines various architectural forms: Inxent's resort-style architecture stands alongside houses made of wattle and daub and timber framing. In cooperation with animal painter Dominique Gall, the Association pour la Promotion des Arts Contemporains organizes various art events and exhibitions, including a painting school located in Inxent.
Nature
Inxent is home to the Association OISO, a regional center for the care and protection of wildlife. The Centre Equestre de la Vallée de la Course in Inxent offers pony and horseback rides to explore nature. From the highest viewpoint in Inxent, you can see the wind turbines at Widehem and the sea.
Village Character and Cuisine
The Auberge d'Inxent is housed in an 18th-century building, a former presbytery, and has five guest rooms. Its cuisine uses fresh local seasonal produce.
Traditions and Events
Every year, on the first Sunday after January 17, Inxent hosts a large festival in honor of Saint Anthony. The ceremony in honor of Saint Anthony is followed by a procession along Inxent's main street, led by an altar server and the two kings. In addition, a timed stage of the Rallye du Touquet passes through Inxent every year.
