Herly: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of Saint-Pierre d’Herly preserves a portal dating from the late 18th century. The war memorial in Herly was inaugurated on 25 September 1921, subsequently renovated, and inaugurated again on 20 November 1998.

Culture

The war memorial features a standing statue of a poilu leaning on his rifle, set on a plinth made of Soignies stone. Herly’s school building was constructed in the 19th century. It combines the size of typical schools of the Third Republic, with three projecting sections, and an Anglo-Norman style from the interwar period.

Six wayside crosses line the route between the hamlets of Herly. Along the road to Quilen, three traditional farmsteads retain their original volumes, openings, and colors from the period of their construction in the 18th century; a bakehouse has also been preserved there.

Landscape

The rural landscape of Herly includes large brick farmsteads from the first half of the 20th century, as well as traditional farmhouses and barns from the 18th century with wattle-and-daub construction.

The Sentier des Trois Clochers connects Herly, Bécourt, and Preures through the bocage landscape. It passes three rural churches and offers open views across the Créquoise Valley.

Trails

The Sentier des Trois Clochers hiking trail begins in Herly’s village square. Depending on the route chosen, it is 6 to 9 km long and is considered very accessible and suitable for young children.

In the past, after visiting the workshop of the craft woodturning business, visitors could try games from the past and present at ATM Bois in Herly.

Settlement

Herly’s settlement extends along a departmental road and includes the hamlets of Bellevue and Hénoville.
