Fruges: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Fruges is situated in a hilly landscape through which the Traxenne River flows. Along this river runs the 800-metre-long Promenade des Digues, lined with chestnut trees. The Les 7 Clochers route offers the opportunity to discover the shady edges of the Bois de Fruges and the rural Traxenne valley. Culture

Fruges Town Hall was built during the July Monarchy, from 1840 to 1842. Its exterior architecture has not been altered since it was built between 1840 and 1842. The town hall clock, dating from 1901, continues to operate using weights.

The Église Saint Bertulphe is a Neo-Gothic church built from 1865 to 1877 according to plans by the architect Alexandre Grigny. The organ case of the Église Saint-Bertulphe consists of 1,200 tin and wooden pipes.

The Musée de l’Abbé Delétoille is located on the first floor of the Fondation Boudenoot at the lower end of Fruges’ Grand’Place. More than 200 postcards and documents there show Fruges at the beginning of the 20th century.

Local Life

The Espace culturel Francis Sagot has three multipurpose halls. Film screenings take place at the Espace culturel Francis Sagot at Rue de Saint Omer, 62310 Fruges.

The giant figures Pô Louche and Marie Robinet, created in 1950 and 1953 respectively, lead a parade with floats and musical groups.
