Chériennes: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Chériennes is home to the Jardin des Lianes, a 5,400-square-metre collection garden awarded the “Jardin Remarquable” designation. It is home to 450 varieties of old-fashioned or English fragrant roses. The garden can be visited independently; guided tours are also available for groups.

Culture and History

Chériennes’ architectural heritage includes the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi. The church complex was listed as a protected site on 14 August 1974. The altarpiece of the church complex dates from the 17th century; the altar and tabernacle date from the 19th century. The complex includes a high altar, a tabernacle, an altarpiece, two statuettes and a painting depicting the Crucifixion. In the church’s south-facing chancel niche there is a carved wooden statue of Saint Francis of Assisi, decorated with polychrome paint. Chériennes was also home to a vicars’ chapel built in 1670 under the patronage of Saint Francis of Assisi. The bronze bell of the Church of Chériennes dates from 1868.

Hiking

The “Les Agaches” hike starts at the car park of the Auberge du Prieuré and leads across the plateau between the valleys of the Canche and Authie rivers. It is 13 kilometres long, takes approximately three hours and has a moderate level of difficulty.
